The Federal Railway Authority and Fabasoft win 15th eGovernment competition
Released on 22. June 2016
The Federal Railway Authority (EBA) together with Fabasoft wins the 15th eGovernment competition in the category “Best modernisation project 2016” based on the eGovernment realisations in the project “eGovernment in the EBA (DOWEBA)”. The award ceremony took place on 22nd June 2016 in Berlin as part of the “Zukunftskongress Staat & Verwaltung”. With this award Fabasoft underpins its pioneering role in the process-orientated digitalisation in public administration with the project in the Federal Railway Authority.
“We are extremely pleased with the award we received for the project within the framework of the eGovernment competition. It honours the more than 10-year cooperation with the Federal Railway Authority and our common path on the way to the digitalisation of the EBA. The process model that has been developed here is available as a reference for other authorities and is already being implemented in other divisions of the Ministry of Transport”, explains Matthias Wodniok, head of the division Professional Services Deutschland.
The competition has been the recognised benchmark for eGovernment activities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland for 14 years. Every year the high-calibre jury from the fields of administrative sciences, IT, social development and the media consisting of Dr. Johannes Ludewig, Franz-Reinhard Habbel, Manfred Klein, Prof. Dr. Maria Wimmer, Anna Faoro and Christian Rupp honours the best projects with an award and justified this year’s decision as follows: “The project is a shining example of eGovernment implementations based on e-files, specialist processes and online services”.
In addition to the jury award, votes for the Public Choice Award can also be submitted online at www.egovernment-wettbewerb.de. The Public Choice Award will be presented to the winner on 2nd September at the 21st Ministerial Congress within the framework of a festive award ceremony.
About DOWEBA
DOWEBA (Document management and workflow system in the EBA) is the central basis for the handling of business processes without media discontinuity based on the Fabasoft eGov-Suite. The Federal Railway Authority has already been working extremely successfully on the implementation of case processing since 2003 and has at the same time developed a reference solution for other authorities in the subordinate departments of the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital infrastructure. So knowledge, experience as well as solution components are available to other departments, such as the Luftfahrt-Bundesamt (LBA (Federal Office of Civil Aviation), the Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA (Federal Motor Vehicle and Transport Authority) or the Bundesamt für Güterverkehr (BAG (Federal Office of Goods Transport), where they optimise business processes and create cost reduction potential.
