Focussing on the customer is essential for survival in the digital age
Reducing internal costs, full traceability, accelerating and standardising processes: These are some of the reasons why Enterprise Content Management systems (ECM) are increasingly being moved into the Cloud. Guest Speaker Cheryl McKinnon, Principal Analyst, explains why this step into the digital age still leaves room for additional commercial benefits.

In the course of a Fabasoft webinar on “Cloud Content Platforms”, the analyst talked about the issues that must be taken into account in the choice of the right Cloud solution. Private businesses and public organisations alike need to take their external stakeholders on board if they want to succeed in putting stronger customer focus into practice. This primarily concerns their customers, but also their suppliers and partners.
The extended digital organisation is the foundation on which to build innovative digital services relating to the sharing of content and collaboration with the help of the Cloud. Agility and speed are right at the top of the wish list when it comes to implementation - even before security or cost reduction, according to McKinnon.
User-friendliness is the key factor
Users will only accept these new and innovative services if they are implemented with the highest level of usability. Solutions for the B2B environment need to be as easy and intuitive to use as it is the norm in the B2C environment.
Advancing successfully in digital transformation requires more than digitising and automating existing business processes: It is also important to try out new ideas and break up structural rigidities.
