FFG flagship project FAIR-AI

FAIR-AI (Fostering Austria's Innovative Strength and Research excellence in Artifical Intelligence) deals with the societal risks of the application of artificial intelligence (AI). It aims to fulfill the requirements of the upcoming European AI Act and to support the development of legally compliant AI applications.

Fabasoft is contributing to the project with two specific business use cases from the field of AI, which also enable strategic preparation for the AI Act.

Budget: EUR 4.4 million, duration: 36 months, start: January 01, 2024
EMERALD Logo

EU project EMERALD

EMERALD is investigating how the implementation of a Certification as a Service (CaaS) approach can support all stakeholders involved in cybersecurity audits. Software components are being developed to sustainably reduce the ever-increasing costs of audits without losing transparency and traceability.

Fabasoft is acting as a technology and use case partner in the project with a focus on security with regard to artificial intelligence (AI).

Budget: EUR 5 million, duration: 36 months, start: November 01, 2023
Logo Kiramet

FFG-Leitprojekt KIRAMET

KIRAMET aims to improve the recycling of metal composite waste through the use of artificial intelligence (AI).

As a technology partner, Fabasoft is focusing on the design of the "Intelligent Recycling Platform" with a microservice structure for integration into cloud ecosystems. One strategic research focus is on data rooms and digital product passports to ensure traceability along the value chain, including in recycling.

Budget: EUR 4.4 million, duration: 36 months, start: July 01, 2023
Loto ZERO3

FFG lead project ZERO³

ZERO³ aims to increase the ecological and economic sustainability of Austrian companies' production processes.

As a technology partner, Fabasoft focuses on the conceptual design of the ZERO³ environment and its data connections in the ecosystem network. One strategic research focus is on human-centered computing. The focus is on the growing need for digital tools for the circular economy.

Budget: EUR 4.5 million, duration: 36 months, start: November 01, 2022.
Medina

EU project MEDINA

MEDINA researched approaches that improve the trustworthiness and transparency of cloud computing and increase the efficiency and effectiveness of existing certification systems for cloud security.

Fabasoft was involved as a use case and technology partner to work towards continuous auditing with topics of automation and reusable components.

Budget: EUR 4.5 million, start: November 1, 2020, end: October 30, 2023
EUSEC

EU project EU-SEC

EU-SEC (European Security Certification Framework) researched initial approaches to improve the business value, effectiveness and efficiency of existing certification systems for cloud security.

As part of the consortium, Fabasoft took on a use case as well as the organization of workshops and was able to contribute to findings regarding the continuous auditing of cloud services with a proof of concept (PoC).

Budget: EUR 3.9 million, start: January 1, 2017, end: December 31, 2019

Automatically Extract and Assess Organizational Evidence for Continuous Cloud Audit

AMOE (Assessment and Management of Organizational Evidence) is a tool for the automated assessment of textual evidence for cybersecurity audits. Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques and a question answering system are used. The aim is to increase the efficiency and accuracy of audits.
