The follow-up event to the Fabasoft Community Day, Fabasoft Connect | eGov Austria, took place at the House of Digitalization in Lower Austria to kick off the year 2025. As usual, Fabasoft organized the event together with Sourcing International. The focus was on innovation and interaction - and in particular the exchange of information within the eGov community.
Freedom of Information Act (IFG) feature: progress and requirements
After a welcome coffee and a short introduction by Ms. Petra Stummer (Office of the Lower Austrian Provincial Government), Stefan Arnold presented the IFG feature. He explained the requirements and the current implementation status and inquired about the status quo in the individual countries as well as the measures still required for implementation. This exchange provided valuable insights, as the Austrian eGov community provided important input - including, for example, early possible use from August - to identify further necessary optimizations before the IFG finally comes into force.
Use of Fabasoft online services
This was followed by an evaluation of whether online services are an option for other members of the eGov community and what possible areas of application there are. In view of the entry into force of the IFG on September 1, 2025, the group took up this topic again and discussed it intensively.
Mr. Haubenwallner from the Office of the Lower Austrian Provincial Government then presented the use of online services in the Lower Austrian Provincial Government. In addition to the existing need for online services and the integration of existing forms, Mr. Haubenwallner also referred to the portal solution of the Lower Austrian Provincial Government.
AI as an accelerator for administration
After refreshments in the atrium of the House of Digitalization, the community focused entirely on the topic of AI and automation and exchanged views on specific use cases. This discussion offered the opportunity to ask questions and possibilities for the pilot phase of Mindbreeze InSpire were presented.
A tour of the House of Digitalization concluded the event. The tour through the “SMART DATA + DU” exhibition, including the 360° LED show on the topic of digitalization, was particularly impressive.
A big thank you to all participants and speakers, whose contributions made the event an informative event with real added value. Register now for the eGov newsletter and don't miss any news or events relating to public administration.
